1/29/12: Just finished posting all sales sheep. Check out the 2012 Lambs and 2011 Yearlings.
1/29/2012: Finished lambing. Lots of little feet running around. Love watching them play. Picture taking today.
1/25/2012: We are looking for 2 unrelated rams to add as breeding rams. We would like to trade out with our yearling rams. We also have many nice yearling ewes for sale. Please contact us if you have a high quality ram to sell or trade.
1/23/2012: Just listed the 2012 lambs for sale. Pictures will be coming soon.
1/21/2012: RIP Alana. Died of birthing complications. She will be missed.
1/2012: Lambs have started to arrive. So far 3 beautiful ewe lambs: white, brown, and a tri-color.
12/19/2011: Happy Holidays
12/19/2011: Finally getting new pictures of sheep for sale: see yearlings section as the yearling rams have been posted.
12/11/2011: All fleeces are now listed. Lamb's wool is $10 per lb, older sheep fleece are $7 per lb.
12/11/2011: Ted said he was shearing all the sheep next year after he helped skirt fleeces today and saw what a mess they were. Thank goodness!! We'll have excellent fleeces next year come April.

12/9/2011: Learning about Ravelry.com to help market my fleeces and yarns. :)
12/3/2011: Congrats to the Rice Family on their purchase of Hugo and their adoptions of Connie, Nanny, & Estrella.
11/19/2011: Rancho Del Sol welcomes it's new sheep dog, Jolie. She a 4yr old border collie that has been trial trained but was not suited for the show ring and will now become a ranch dog.
11/08/2011: Started adding new fleeces for sale. Lamb's wool is $10 per pound.
11/2011: Saw sheep in Egypt and would love to get my hands on some of them. They remind me of the Navajo's but just a little different. Pic posted.122.JPG
11/6/2011: Only 3 regular fleeces left for sale. There are more discounted ones available. I have started skirting the lasted batch and will post them as I clean them.
9/18/2011: 55 sheep and 1 llama fleece to skirt, weigh, label, photograph, and post on the website. Mucho trabaja!!!
9/17/2011: Shearing day at the ranch. We are using a new person from South America and he does a sheep in just a few minutes. Amazing. I will skirt the fleeces later which will much harder for me since he shears the sheep in one piece: good and not so good wool.
9/10/2011: A big thank you to Denise for helping me with selling my fleeces.
8/20/2011: Shipping/handling: I will send all packages parcel post. I will mail FedEx, UPS, Priority, or 1st Class upon request.
8/17/2011: We now accept PayPal. I send an invoice, then when payment has been received, I mail.
8/17/2011: New fleeces are posted and discounted to $5 per lb because of the first and last annual shearing. Some of these fleeces are a steal at $5 like rare dark brown lambs wool.
8/2/2011: We are going to the Heirloom Expo in Santa Rosa, CA and will be bringing 2011 lambs which will be for sale. We are also bringing fleeces and yarn to sell. Come by and see our display in the sheep barn at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds, Sept 13-15. Fun!!!
8/1/2011: My three yearling ewes turned out to be dark brown rather than black. I was told by the association that it's a very UNCOMMON color. Thanks Rasta, Marly, and Miso.
6/27/2011: Just returned from the 15th Annual Sheep is Life Celebration in Tsaile, AZ on the Navajo Nation. I learned about rotational grazing, judging wool at the Wool Show, and how to dye wool. I even picked out the winning ram in the sheep show. There were some beautiful weavings and rugs for sale as well. As a tourist, we took a jeep ride into the Canyon de Chelly. Very beautiful. It was a great trip.
6/18/2011: Congrats to Sandy Boneso on the purchase of 2 sheep.
5/27/2011: Congrats to Tammy on the purchase of 2 ewes as a present to her brother. What a lucky guy.
5/21/2011: Congratulations to Imox Creations Ecofarm on the purchase of 6 sheep.
5/8/2011: Happy Mother's Day.
Shearing finally completed until Sept. We've had a few hot days so the sheep appreciated being sheared. Lambs are getting BIG.
Looking for that special ram or your next replacement, we have some beautiful ram lambs, many are 4 horned.
4/18/2011: We have entered The National Heirloom Expo which will be held at Sonoma County Fair Grounds in Santa Rosa, Sept 13-15. Here is the website: www.theheirloomexpo.com.
4/18/2011: Lambs will be weaned on April 30th. They are huge this year and very beautiful.
4/18/2011: Shearing a couple of sheep at a time. With the heavy coats, our blades only hold out for 2 sheep. We are making headway but oh so slowly.
3/31/2011: It's shearing time. This is the first year we went to an annual shearing but my sheep seem miserable with so much wool. Very itchy. We have decided to do a long coat (Sept to April) and a short shear (April to Sept). Hopefully this will make everyone happy. PS: Scissor lift works great. Great for older backs and aging human bodies.
3/29/2011: Shearing starts today for my poor husband. Unfortunately our regular shearer has family issues and probably won't make it here this year so that means we get to do it. I did buy a scissor-lift shearing table which will help ALOT.
3/22/2011: Final 2 lambs born today, a black ewe lamb and a badger tri-color ram lamb. That makes a 100% conception rate and a 100% lamb survival rate. We MUST be doing something right!!!!!!
3/1/2011: WANTED: A quiet older short haired trained sheep dog to help me move my flock. Light work only. Must like horses, cats, other dogs, and not be scared by a llama. A retired older dog would be perfect. I would prefer a dog that doesn't require kenneling. Email me or call 805 467-2122. Thank you!!!
2/17/11: For our California buyers, delivery is now possible. We will make 1 trip north and 1 trip south after our lambs are weaned. For other states, we will consider meeting at a half way point if enough sheep are purchased to make the trip.
2/2/11: I officially have 2 bummer lambs now and they look exactly the same. Geeter was born last week to a mom known to reject her lambs but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She won't be bred again by me, is for sale as a wool maker as she has one of the best fleeces on the property.
Lamb #2 was born yesterday to a maiden mom. I believe the rejected lamb was born 1st and she had a hard time birthing the second as he is very large. She bonded with the 2nd and missed the first. It happens. I will breed her again to see what happens.
1/28/11: I can't believe we are almost done lambing, only 2 more ewes left to go. And only in 3 weeks. That must be a record. One ewe left to go is the size of a hot air balloon, poor thing. I'm guessing she may have triplets.
Check out the lamb photos in the 2011 for sale category!!!
1/26/11: We wish Mama Sheeps (WF Tara) a fond farewell as she passed today. She is the mother of our foundation ram, Bean, and has given countless beautiful lambs. She will be missed!!!!!
1/19/11: My ewes are popping out lambs faster than I can count. Today we had 6. Pictures coming soon (I hope).
1/13/11: 2011 Lambs for sale are being posted as they arrive. We have 2 ram lambs and 1 ewe lamb so far. Check them out.
1/10/11: The new Natural Fiber Yarn page is up so please take a look at all the beautiful yarns. Many thanks to Ranch of the Oaks Fiber Mill for processing our fleeces. Don't forget we have lowered the prices.
1/8/11: It's a boy. It's a girl. Oh and another boy was born Sun am to my sweetie Isabell. He'll be beauty with excellent wool. All are for sale. Pictures coming soon.
1/7/11: The first lambs have arrived tonight. Good job Jezzabell: twins, white w/ brown spots. Haven't sex'd them yet.
1/5/11: I am the process of revamping our yarn program and will have lower prices. Look for our new yarn page in the next few weeks.
1/1/11: Happy New Year!
12/24/10: Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, except for a mouse
The stockings were hung, all with holes in their toes
But all were hung with absolute care
Mama had hope that new yarn soon would be there
Don't forget about yarns and fleeces for sale!!!
Happy Holidays
12/21/10: Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!!
We are taking some R&R right after Christmas so please contact us after the 1st.
12/12/10: Congratulations to Tanya Charter on the birth of her ewe lambs by Del Sol, a ram lamb they purchased.
12/5/10: I have four retired ewes that are looking for a job doing pasture mowing. They are free to the right home or can be borrowed to a safe pasture location (must have predator control/good fencing).
12/5/10: All the 2010 ram lambs have been sold so please check back starting in Feb, 2011. We are expecting babies at the end of Jan through Mar. Check back often.
I still have four 2010 ewes that are very nice breed stock. Two are very dark brown (almost black), one is dark brown, and the other is milk chocolate with 2 horns. There are also registered ewes for sale (not pictured) and to the right home, I will sell my proven breeding ram, Bean (not pictured).
11/13/10: I still have some nice yearling rams and ewes for sale.
11/13/10: Felted Wool Dryer Balls: I am learning how to make these and see how they work.
OK you crafters, please tell me about some wonderful ideas for felt projects!!!! I would appreciate the ideas and information.
11/13/10: I have happy rams since they have been in with the ewes for a few months now. Can't wait until the "wee" ones start arriving in Jan.
9/26/10: The Ireland Sheep tour photos can be seen on: www.irelandsheeptour.shutterfly.com All tour goers will be adding their photos to this website.
9/11-22/10: Ted and I just came home from Ireland where we went on the Ireland Sheep Tour with Premier AG. Ireland is a glorious place with friendly people and beautiful scenery. We saw Texel, Suffocks, Scottish Black Face Mountain, Blue Faced Leicesters, and many crosses. The Suffocks are much shorter and stocker than their US cousins. I even cuddled with a $100,000 Suffock ram. I call the Texel's the bulldog's of the sheep world as they were built short, stocky, and no neck length. The Scottish Black Face Mountain Sheep were my personal favorites as they looked more like the Navajo Churros.
So if you ever get the chance to visit Ireland, DO IT!!! My next trip there will be done on the back of a horse.
8/1/2010: It's breeding time! We will be putting our rams with their ewes soon for Jan/Feb 2011 lambs. If you wish to reserve a specific color, sex, or type of lamb, please give us a call. Reserve your 2011 stock NOW!
Happy Rams.
7/11/2010: Congratulations to McKenzie Creek Ranch on the purchase of the ram lamb #44.
7/4/2010: Happy 4th of July to everyone!
6/12/2010: Please see updated 2010 lamb pictures under either 2010 ewes or 2010 rams for sale. We still have several nice youngsters for sale!!!!
5/21/2010: Congratulations to Michelle Corbin on her purchase of 4-2010 Ewe Lambs!!!
5/13/2010: Congratulations to Shasta Farm, LLC on the purchase of 17 beautiful sheep.
5/12/2010: This flock test negative for OPP/CL/CAE diseases
5/12/2010: Raw Fleeces are now on the site. Take a look.
4/30/10: It's shearing day tomorrow. Just in time since the temps are turning hot. Raw fleeces in a variety of colors will be available soon.
4/11/10: See our new yarn page. 100 yard skeins are $18.00 and 200 yard skeins are $20. Great for outer garments, crafts, and rugs. We are shearing in May so raw fleeces will be available soon.
4/10/10: This flock tests negative for Johne's disease.
4/10/10: Congratulations to Moorpark College on the purchase of 4 sheep for their exotic zoo teaching program.
3/28/2010: The wildflowers are just starting to come out and are they beautiful. The other day I saw some cute daisy looking flowers, went back a day later to take pictures and the sheep ATE them all. Little buggers.
The new llama, Carmel is workingout just fine. He really is a herding llama rather than a guard llama since he herds them away from danger.
3/8/2010: The new flock book came in over the weekend and the color data is listed. This year's lambs are rare in color:
Brown: 13%
Dark Brown: >1%
Tri-Color: very rare
And I have all 3 of these rare colors. Yippy!!!!
2/23/2010: All the 2010 lambs are here and healthy. Take a look at the sales page for them.
2/15/2010: Hope everyone had a nice 3-day weekend. FINALLY!!! The 2010 lambs are all for sale and can be seen under sheep for sale. We have several brown ones this year, and many blacks as well.
1/15/2010: We purchased our first llama to protect against an every growing population of coyotes that are bold and unafraid of people or dogs. They have been stalking our sheep in daylight and don't scare. Heard llamas are wonderful guard animals!!!
1/18/2010: Lambs are popping out daily. Mamas and babies are doing well. Pictures to come next week since we are experiencing very heavy rains and the wind is coming any time now. No complaints about the rain since we are in a drought.
1/15/2010: The new computer has been installed but there are still glitches to fix. TODAY the 2010 lambs started arriving. Lilly gave us 2 healthy boys. See their pictures under the 2010 lambs for sale.
12/31/09: Goodbye to 09 and hello 2010 and may it be a better year for all of us!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Our 2010 lambs should be born anytime now.
12/09: Happy Holidays to all.
